Stuck Again
I'm stuck in the same spot, trying to get off of 610. I hate 610. I'm going to come up with a route to avoid it on my home bound commute.

Waiting on a Houston Highway
I have been sitting here waiting to get off the highway for 10 minutes. Not sure what the hold up is. 2 trucks off roaded. I get to watch these three dudes. Kind of awkward.

Hook 'em Horns
I tried to send this picture during the game but it didn't work. We had a great time tailgating, and UT won!

Eating in Austin
We just finished eating at Trudy's. Oh wow, so good. I had a deep fried cheese stuffed avocado. So full.

Green Tea Tiramisu
I can't resist ordering Tiramisu because it was our wedding cake. We just ate sushi at Kubo's, and this was for desert. Delicious!!

Great Weekend
I made it home around 3:30 yesterday, which was about 3.5 hours after I was supposed to. That is not as bad as the DC trip where I was about 7 hours late! I got a $150 voucher for my next United flight, which is much nicer that the $25 voucher I got for my DC delay with Air Tran.
The dogs are all happy and healthy, Domi and Nate did a great job watching them! They have a few dog walking pictures I'll post later this week.
Jared enjoyed his trip to Charleston for Tim's wedding. I am looking forward to going through the pictures, and hearing all the stories. I am disappointed I missed the wedding.
I had a great time watching Taber get married, and seeing all of my old friends. I would love to see them more often. As per usual, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Vetty and Joel, and it was great that my folks were able to come down and visit as well! Plenty of pictures to come!

Another Delay
We finally boarded the plane around 10:45, although our original departure was at 8:30. We were on the runway, but are now back at the gate. So much for not being stuck on the plane. I bet Jared will beat me home, and I was supposed to be there 6 hours before him. Sadly, this is typical.

Maintenance Delay
We were supposed to depart at 8:30. There is another maintenance problem, hopefully this won't take too long to resolve. At least I'm not sitting on the plane for this delay.
I can't remember the last time a took a trip and didn't have any significant delays. Is that normal, or am I just that lucky?

Maintenance Delay
As usual, my flight is delayed. I have a 2 hour layover, so I may still make it to the wedding at 1:30. They started the show, which luckily is 30 Rock!

The High Cost of Blogging
While I was in my room blogging, two of my dogs ate the back of one of my shoes, and half of a pair of my undies. Where is the other half you say? I'm sure I'll find it in the yard tomorrow.

Also, I came across a puppy picture of Tancred. Wasn't he the cutest?!?!?

Shogun
I haven't been good about posting what we watch. We love our netflix, so we watch plenty of movies! This past weekend we watched Shogun, the first disk. I have not yet read this Clavell book, but Jared has. I liked the movie, and plan to read the book next year.

Texan's Game
Jared got to go to a Texan's game a couple weeks ago. He is President of the Global Business Club at Rice, and all of the club presidents got to attend. I was jealous, but not nearly as jealous as I would have been had he gone to the Texans - Vikings game last night! I like watching Brett play, even in purple.
Here is Jared in his Texans shirt!

Nice view from the box!

Here is the weird thing the players ran out of.

A good time was had by all. Hopefully I'll be able to go to a game this year too!

My First Cake
I made my first cake from scratch! For Ree and Julia's birthdays, Dan and Doreen hosted a Julia dinner Sunday night. See Dan's blog here. It was fun and delicious!
This was the first time I made a cake from scratch, so I was quite anxious about it. It turned out great, and I am excited to try again! I didn't take pictures of each step because I was a bit stressed, so here is the final product!
Me and my cake.

A close-up.

With the birthday candle.

My slice!

DomiNate Visit Houston
I stayed in Houston Thursday night, then Nate and Domi came to Houston Friday and Saturday night. Friday night we went to our Aunt Ree's birthday happy hour.
Here is happy Ree!

Ree and Rex with the Roe's.

Ree and Rex with the Bechle's.

The ladies!

We were all pretty tired Friday. Domi slept on the LoveSac while I did wonders with Wii bowling. I am so terrible at all the rest of the Wii sports though.

I didn't use the camera the rest of their visit, but it was a great time. We had lunch with Dan and Doreen Saturday, then played frisbee golf at the park next to our house. A good time was had by all! I am so happy they are in Austin!!

My First DomiNate Austin Visit
Domi and Nate moved to Austin last week! I drove down Thursday to help them move in, but as you can see, didn't help much.
We started with some welcome to Texas bubbly.

Nate enjoyed some wecome to Texas beer, St. Arnold's Texas Wheat.

Here is their lovely cat, Maggie. She turned 1 yesterday!

We rode the bus downtown to eat. At least I think it was downton. Here we are at the busstop. That's their apartment complex in the back.

Sadly, this is the only picture of the capital I got, and I managed to line a light pole right up the middle! To my credit, it was taken from a moving bus.

It's Domi and Ernie! This is at the restarautn where we stopped for coffee and wings before dinner. Odd combo, but we were tired and hungry.

We ate dinner at Stubb's. Here are the fried green tomatoes. Delicous!

Texas style chili. The best kind of chili if you ask me.

And here is the brisket with fries and creamy cheesy spinach.

Then on to 6th St. We started drinking at The Library.

Some dude drew our picture. I felt bad and gave him $5.

Here are a few fun pics from the 3rd or 4th bar. I don't recall the name....
