Long Beach, CA for the SWE Conference

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the SWE Conference. I hope I get that opportunity again, it was fun, interesting, and educational.

Long Beach is beautiful, which didn't surprise me. I love Southern California. Here are a few picture I took on a walk.

Austin for UT vs. Tech Game

I know this game was quite a while ago, I have been lazy about blogging lately. I do have some fun pics from this trip though.

Here is Jared at the Christmas lights bar. It's been so long, I can't remember the name of it! Service was so terrible, but we had fun.


We didn't have tickets for the game, but we met up with some of Jared's friends from Rice at a tailgate party. We walked to a bar during halftime to watch the rest of the game before our "What Made Milwaukee Famous" concert.

Nate was resting on the sidewalk while we were waiting for the bus. I doubt he knows this picture was taken. The tailgating was fun, the concert was fun, and I am so happy Domi and Nate live so close!

Jared's Quiche

Jared cooked a quiche! He had been wanting me to cook him one for years, but I never got around to it. My Mom even got me a nice pie pan and crust making stuff for Christmas a while back. Jared finally got sick of waiting for the keish, so he took matters into his own hands. It was delicious!

Beer Can Chicken Dish

Last week we used the beer can chicken dish we bought from the Bayou City Arts Festival. We used wine instead of beer, it was delicious!

First, we marinated the chicken.

I just landed. It is cooler and dryer than Houston, it's around 70. Nice!

The Zester

I had an incident with the zester while prepping the chicken last night. The chicken turned out great though, I'll post a pic soon!

Bayou City Arts Festival

Jared and I had lunch with three of my cousins (Kathleen, Charlotte, and Kerry) at the arts fest. We ran into Ree as well. A great time was had by all! Jared bought a much needed wallet, and we bought this chicken baker! I have never seen one, we can make beer can chicken in the oven, and can use wine. We're thawing the chicken now, I can't wait!
