Dogs Colors and Our Paint Choices

You know what I just realized?  We painted one room for each color of dog!  How ridiculous is that?

I want to go with something green for the bedrooms, although I'd love to work that terracotta color in somewhere.  We'll see.

Memphis: Roji and Kim's Wedding

The weekend before last Jared and I drove to Memphis for Roji and Kim's wedding. The drive wasn't bad, and the wedding was great! We loved catching up with all of our old Cargill friends, and it was fun to see another happily married Cargill couple.

Here we are, driving along and being goofy.  I drove the first half, and Jared drove the second.  We did that both ways.

I attempted to take a pic of the bridge when we came in.  The was the best I managed from the car.

The first thing I ate there was my ever loving smoked bologna sandwich.  I love it so much.  Jared got the ribs, mac and cheese, and potato salad.  This was at Central BBQ.

We stayed with our friend Alex and his big and beautiful Bubba.  I can't get enough of that dog.

We were late to the wedding so had to sit way in the back.  Here is Roji waiting for Kim.

The aisle was quite long, here is Kim walking down.

And here they are, getting married!

And here are the newly weds!  We threw corn at them, how perfect is that.  I wonder if they took it from work...

And here are two happy couples at the reception.  A good time was had by all!

The Twin's Golden Birthday

The twins turned 27 on the 27th! Sadly, Vetty wasn't with us, but we had a great time celebrating with Domi.

We surprised Domi with a French restaurant, Max and Julie's. This was recommended by Dan and Doreen. Oh man was it good. Before the restaurant we stopped at Dan and Doreen's for some French champagne (the only kind?) and French cheese roll things (I don't remember what they're called) that Doreen made. Again, so good! I need to get that recipe.

Here are a few of the dishes. Jared got the onion soup and beef tips, Domi got the veal, I got chicken and Nate got a beef stew. Pictures of my and Nate's meals didn't turn out.

After the restaurant we went to Anvil Bar. The beer and drinks were great! I was the DD, so I had a small taste of everyone elses drinks.

Domi once ate an entire pineapple in one sitting, and we still pick on her for it. Here she is trying to eat what looks like a giant pineapple.

And here we are on the way home. A good time was had by all.

Relaxing after a night of fun.

Great Weekend

I made it home around 3:30 yesterday, which was about 3.5 hours after I was supposed to. That is not as bad as the DC trip where I was about 7 hours late! I got a $150 voucher for my next United flight, which is much nicer that the $25 voucher I got for my DC delay with Air Tran.

The dogs are all happy and healthy, Domi and Nate did a great job watching them! They have a few dog walking pictures I'll post later this week.

Jared enjoyed his trip to Charleston for Tim's wedding. I am looking forward to going through the pictures, and hearing all the stories. I am disappointed I missed the wedding.

I had a great time watching Taber get married, and seeing all of my old friends. I would love to see them more often. As per usual, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Vetty and Joel, and it was great that my folks were able to come down and visit as well! Plenty of pictures to come!

The High Cost of Blogging

While I was in my room blogging, two of my dogs ate the back of one of my shoes, and half of a pair of my undies. Where is the other half you say? I'm sure I'll find it in the yard tomorrow.

Also, I came across a puppy picture of Tancred. Wasn't he the cutest?!?!?

DomiNate Visit Houston

I stayed in Houston Thursday night, then Nate and Domi came to Houston Friday and Saturday night. Friday night we went to our Aunt Ree's birthday happy hour.

Here is happy Ree!

Ree and Rex with the Roe's.

Ree and Rex with the Bechle's.

The ladies!

We were all pretty tired Friday. Domi slept on the LoveSac while I did wonders with Wii bowling. I am so terrible at all the rest of the Wii sports though.

I didn't use the camera the rest of their visit, but it was a great time. We had lunch with Dan and Doreen Saturday, then played frisbee golf at the park next to our house. A good time was had by all! I am so happy they are in Austin!!

My Dog's Breeds

I had a DNA test done on Sundog and Tancred (Canine Heritage Breed Test).

Tancred was born at the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County, so I have seen his father dog, and he looked 100% pitbull. I never saw his mother dog, but was told she was a pit mix. I am not surprised by his results.

Primary (50% or greater): NONE

Secondary: American Staffodshire Terrier

Tertiary: Bulldog (didn't say American or English) and Greyhound

I found Sundog on the street so I never saw either of his parent dogs. He looks just like Cairn Terrier. I have had Cairn owners come up to me and ask me about him. I am very surprised by his results, to the point where I think they might have mixed up his sample!

Primary (50% or greater): NONE

Secondary: Chow chow and Siberian Husky

Tertiary: German Short Haired Pointer and Shih Tzu

KST with M&P

Mom and Pa left early Friday morning. I miss having them around already, and the dogs do too. Before they got here I was worried about how Mom would feel about Tancred, but it worked out great. She got used to the leg licking! Here are a bunch of pictures of us simply spending time with each other.

This was their first night here. Mom is getting to know Tancred.

Here is Pa with Sundog and Kirsche.

Mom got a fantastic pair of cowboy boots! Here are the boots, and Mom petting Tancred.

Here is Sundog snuggling up to Mom. She and Pa got used to him jumping up whenever he felt like it.

Mom brought a scarf to do some bead work. Tancred curled up behind her.

I have a wonderful dog encyclopedia called "The Dog Bible". Here is Pa, reading about some unusual breeds with Kirsche.

Sundog perches on the back of couches and chairs like a cat. He curled up right behind Pa.

Jared was not able to take any time off because he is an intern for ExxonMobil Chemical. He was quite tired because he still stayed up with us most nights. Here he is spending some time with the dogs after work.
