Outside House Pictures

I've shown most folks pictures of the inside of our house. Here is the outside!

Here is a panoramic of the front. We have much foliage.

Here is the front door.

Here is my car with one of our magnolia trees.

Here is the front sidewalk. We should probably trim those plants back, but I like them!

Here is the side of the house. I want to get a real gate put there.

Here is another panoramic of the back area.

Here is the backyard.

Here is Sundog, doing his favorite thing. He will sit outside for hours and hours. Notice the boards and chairs shoved under the fence. He also loves to escape.

Here is the bird that lives on top of our fuse box. I feel bad for her because I'm pretty sure she's sitting on an empty nest. More than one egg has fallen out, the dogs then eat them. It makes me so sad!!

End-of-the-Year Night Out

Sadly, it was a Wednesday, a work night, but I went along anyway. Both the Jones School classes of 2009 and 2010 went out to Club 26Ten in the Galleria area. Jared and I were 10 minutes early, the first people there, because we're used to driving so much farther when going out. We did get free parking, and I got pictures of the club before it was packed.

Self portrait, ready to go out!

Here is the entrance of the club. Dark and empty! It is a nice place.

Here is Jared getting to know the bar tender. He served us our gin and tonics all night.

Here are the fun moving wall lights.

Upstairs there is a sushi bar. The sushi was delicious! Here is the seating area.

The sushi was a bit more expensive that where we usually go, but we usually go to happy hours on Kirby. I was still happy with Jared, Jared doesn't look quite as pleased pulling out the wallet.

Aneesh started an angry face contest. Colin won.

They had the game on to try to keep people from leaving. Some folks left, we left for about 10 minutes. Houston lost, but hopefully they'll win tonight!

Here we are, being weird as usual. The place is now crowded.

You know it's getting late when the glow sticks come out. We left not long after this, it was a good time!

Traveling with Dogs

Eventually there will come a time when I need to fly my dogs somewhere, and I worry about it. Here is an article on the subect.

I would like it if they offered a few pet flights where pets of all sizes (that could fit on a seat) could fly with their owners.

Check out my blog list on the right

I love Cute Overload!

Who's down with OTC?

Jared and I went to the Offshore Technology Conference today. I had a lot of fun, and probably could have spent a lot more time there. Hopefully I will make it to one of the luncheons.

Here we are, on our way! Jared is driving my Matrix, I didn't want to deal with the crowds.

First we had to make a stop at Dapper Dan's. I love the name!

Here is my good luck charm. Jared got me a funshine bear after my surgery, I've liked it ever since!

Here we are at Reliant Stadium and Reliant Center.

So many people, such a long walk.

We couldn't take pictures inside. It was a lot of standing and walking, my feet hurt!

HEY!!! That's my car! That's the second time I've seen someone else with my car in Houston!

Walking the Dogs

I walk the dogs at the TC Jester Park almost twice a day every day. I am so happy to have this park so close to the house!

And the walk begins.

Here we come! Walking three dogs isn't as hard as it looks. Unless a squirrel runs by.

Here is the pool we walk past. It opens in a few weeks, I'm sure it will be too crowded to go.

Our first pit stop. If only everyone else would pick up after their dogs too. Alaric, how do you like the new use for your Claymore Mine Bag?

All those pine trees!

Here is the bayou that will hopefully never overflow. It was oh so very full during the storms last week. You can see the water level in the grass.

A Robot?!? What?

A Robot wakes up an 11 year old in a SWAT standoff.

Dog Ears

Kirsche, my bunny-eared Schnauzer, is always getting here ears licked and chewed by both Sundog and Tancred. I tried it last night, I can see why the do it all the time. She has wonderful ears!

Here is Tancred chewing Kirsche's ears.

Piette Dinner Party

I didn't take any pictures during the party, but Uncle Dan did. One thing I like about his pics, they're so high up! It's the view I get when I stand on a chair! It would be fun to be tall for a day.

Here is everyone in front of our house.

Me with the chickens.

My rocket dogs and Kirsche.

Our dining area.

The front room.

The place settings.

The soup.

Relaxing before dinner.

Dinner is served.

Eating Dinner.

Piette Dinner Party: Chicken

What a great idea to cook beer can chicken! I don't like white meat, but this white meat is so incredibly juicy. It is such a money saver to buy those two chickens at once, we'll do this more often!! Look at how pumped up they get from one pic to the next.

Piette Dinner Party: Poppy Seed Cake

Here is the making of the cake.

First we mixed the cake.

Then we licked the bowls, and let the dogs join in the fun. Sundog was probably outside.

Then I realized I don't know how to make a bundt cake. Next time I'll get it right!

Then I tried to fix it. It kind of worked. You cut it up when you eat it anyway!!

Then we glazed the cake the next morning. What a great glaze Mom!
